The last batch of Peanut Butter Blondies have gone in the oven.. and im now in the midst of texting everyone today’s pickup details. but u know what my attention span is like kan? which is why ive logged in to wordpress and started typing today’s post. I’ll go back to texting in a bit.. once i run out of things to say.

my fingers smell of vanilla. i love working with vanilla beans cause it makes my fingers smell like vanilla the whole day. it makes nail biting a treat!!! lol. what do you do with the vanilla bean once uve extracted all of the seeds out of it? i saw once on AFC that you could put the beans in to your sugar container to make vanilla sugar.. but ive found a new way of using it as a stirrer for my morning nescafe. heaven i tell you. its just as nice as using cinnamon sticks..but better. im sure im not the first one with this great idea. let me just google it……

anyway, i have to make it a point to go to innerspace today. to return a rather bengkok ‘new from their storage’ lamp. I seriously dont get it.. if you want to mark up prices of your goods..its fine..cause at the end of the day business is business right? but what i dont get.. is when businesses mark up their prices sooo high like they’re on skunk.. and makes it obvious to the customers that its of shit quality.. like a belingkok lamp !! u can even see it is bengkok from mars!!! whats more insulting is the fact that the shop only gives ‘credit notes’ to items which are bought that are faulty. how would have i known it was bengkok? when i specifically had told the sales girl to run up and get me a new one.. she did. in a box.

unless u r superman, a typical awang or dayang can’t really see through a box! I hope they’ve got a replacement for the lamp, otherwise im just going have to argue my way to get my money back. i mean i wudnt mind if the lamp was $50 bucks and i got a credit note for that..but a faulty lamp costing over $200 deserves a full refund..in the event that a replacement is unavailable. sigh. tapi banar tu, if u want to mark up prices make sure the flaws aren’t detectable. why u want to lose credibility like that? i dont understand eh. anyway, the lamp i bought is for my ‘office’.

I’m transforming the built in shelf in to a desk. i figured i needed space where i can do all my paperwork on.. my only concern is the fact that i won’t be able to drill anything on cause its wood and my mom would absolutely kill me if i made holes to cater for more wires. The other day, when i had a guy install astro in my room, i was out and got a call from my brother Rahim giving me options on how-i-can-watch-astro.

“Ka, he said u have two options..one u can either buka your jendela if u have your astro on..”

My macbook charger is screwing up on me. is it time for a new macbook or just a charger? its probably also due to the fact that the charger’s an australian 3 pin charger (nazme take note!) and not the normal 3-pin charger we use in Brunei. blah. rusak tia kali malar ku cabut cabut atu.

anyway, scouting for ingredients today, stopping at Manjaro first to have lunch with Addi. Haven’t been there for quite some time. I remember going there all the time (to the point of ‘everyday’) for their huge portions of lamb cutlets!!! not sure why we stopped. maybe because it was breaking our wallets? lol

oh my god. i just remembered! kain.balumhantar.ke.tailor. bnr bnr lupa ku that i will be celebrating raya for the first time in a trillion years in Brunei..(lol mcm aku idup dari zaman dinosour saja!) i think my last 3 rayas were spent in melbourne in recycled baju kurongs hahahahaha.. honestly i dont even know where to start when it comes to looking for the perfect kain. Panning tu ke kadai kain ah.. mcm.. ok this kain is for work?this kain is for raya kah? work kah? can i use this kain for raya? does it even matter?

thats one thing. memilih PISIN is another thing. i dont know i guess im not all that big into baju kurong pisin that i usually end up making the traditional baju kurong with a little bit of beadings here and there.. and 3. there is only one tailor in the whole of brunei that can make me look skinny in bulky malay clothing. i dont know why, but some of the baju kurong that i have makes me look like an angry RUGBY player as apposed to a demure bruneian malay. huhuhu. Sponge nya atu luan tinggi bah. tapi kalau inda be sponge.. i look hunchbacked! oh whatever. worse comes to worst ill just NOT GO OUT for raya. The thing is, mom usually makes the baju kurong for us.. from the buying of the kain..to the sending of the kain to the tailors.. i just realised that being an adult also means that mom won’t be doing any of these things for us anymore 🙁 No idea how she did it for her 4 girls. barang kali thats why we’re used to making just Baju Kurongs.. hahaha nda lagi ya tepikirkan memfashion kali. oh whatever. baju kurong baju kurong lah..ill think of something.. glam it up with jewellery or something.. like a nose ring. hahahahahahaa.

Who invented ‘THE Wink’ anyway? And why is WINKING in this part of the world considered as being gatal? huhu. I notice Australians wink alot which is a way of saying ‘yes’ to something or.. ‘yes to i’m being gatal’ depending on the situation. But why does winking have to equate to sleaziness ah? Why can’t it be used for something else like a way of telling the teacher that you want to go to the toilet to pee? huhu.

Ive got today off baking. I’m supposed to be sleeping in, but i TERbangun early. for what ? i dont know? Its been a while since i last had a good sleep in. Im so tempted to go back to sleep but i’ve got a nice hot cup of coffee sitting right next to me.. i just noticed that even the smell of coffee can wake u up ah?! ill probably go back to sleep after downing it. skali bangun mcm tebeliak mata. i read somewhere that if you’re kalat mata at the office or wherever, you should skull down a cup of coffee, take a short nap and you are guaranteed to wake up refreshed. Apparently the caffeine works better when you’re sleeping. I’ve tried this a couple of times and sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt..barang kali when it works, i was only semi-sleepy kali..and when it doesn;t i guess i was really really sleepy hahahaha. well, in this case you can always try the matchsticks in your eye trick..lol pakai selotape kah. hahahahaha. *wink*

the plan today is to go around town scouting for two weeks worth of ingredients..and when i finally HAV E THE TIME..i will have to delete my phone sms inbox. gila panoh dang. mcm gigi sudah inbox ah. and it takes a freakin long time to load.

Its tuesday? already? omg. time really flies when you have things to do. I need to sort out a couple of things this week.. like unpacking my Melbourne cargo and a few other Brownie related things.

My melbourne boxes have been sitting in the guest room collecting dust for a few months now. One of the reasons why i haven’t ‘found time’ to unpack is the fact that i am dreading having to go through all my stuff to find out that i paid expensive cargo fees to bring JUNK i accumulated whilst in Melbourne back to brunei! But i have to do it soon as i’m running out things to wear..huhuhu. You have to admit, it is fun going through boxes of your old things.. except when you find smaller sized clothing that you can’t really fit in to anymore cause you’re FAT. mcm ‘ai skirt! skirt masa bila ni????’ ‘skirt masa ku kurus!’ — SHIT! and then comes to the..” inda ku mau makan lagi eh.. EVER.” “biar tia ku lapar.. aying pun inda ku mau minum!!” and then with that, comes MORE regret “UMIIIII!! JANTAH JADI BUATKAN SAYA CHIPS. SAYA KANYANG SUDAH!!”

Im at my angah’s house by the way. eating PILIPINO mangoes and blogging whilst waiting for my brownies to bake.. and im sleepy. for some reason, i kudn’t really sleep last night.. was tossing and turning in bed for a good 2 hrs kali before i doze off.

i am very tired.spent the whole day at the icentre celebrating rano’s ‘madigras’ of an event. gila. talk about going full on with the launching of a layout!!!! amazing turn out too!! haha i wonder if that many people would turn up if was to launch a new layout.. seorang kali ganya dtg.. si Umi..sama kupi.

It was nice to finally have met some of my customers who usually orders from the ‘brownieholic-anonymous’ line lol. It was also nice to see familiar faces and also the new. mcm happy ku!!!!!! by the end of the day my feet were really mambang..and just when i tot i kudnt walk anymore.. kfc happened. we were at the icentre a little bit before 1pm and only packed up to go home around six-ish. when we realised we havent eaten.. thats when kfc happened. freakin good chicken i tell you.

now i just feel like soaking my feet in warm water.. taking a hot shower..and go to sleep. photos of the event tommorrow. but not here. we shall try www.thecakery.sasmonroe.net for a change yes?
