Fireworks are going off from EVERY SIDE OF MY HOUSE..this could only mean one thing; SELAMAT TAHUN BARU CINA. It looks to me like my neighbours are having a bunga api competition and i think they’re calling it; “Siapa putus tangannya dulu manang!!” .

Kalah Hari Raya kali. Bunga api nya lagi bunya api jinis MAHAL. buleh tahan eh. au ani nada tidur ni malam ani. I was just looking out of the window, even in the distance i could see displays of fireworks from all sides of town!!! aaah one of the advantages of living on a hill. i think i might go outside and take some pictures.

So ok. The moment ive been anticipating. The whole thing finally blew over. I’ve never even experienced this kind of (unnecessary)drama between the ages of 12-21! I guess, this time around, i’m what? catching up for lost time?? No idea what will come out of this..basar jua sudah kali kan tau apa SALAH sama apa LURUS….tau jua ku kali ah.. ada otak SENDIRI.

I guess this is just the type of situation that the ever annoying Heidi Klum would just love to be in. “Are you IN or OUT?” or if it was me, kutampar kau karang heidi eh. but thats just too much PROJECT RUNWAY ON MY PART. and please la..this is my blog and i can write whatever the hell i want..if i can’t say it out loud (nada jua orang MENDANGAR bah, ITS BEEN PROVEN) ill write it in here.. i dont know if it’d make any difference plang. Ive been getting lots of hits lately and it kinda got me thinking. Well it was really Andie who triggered these thoughts *rolls eyes*. I was telling him how most of my readers were silent readers who only cares to comment every now and then or never. and he said something which struck me as a very interesting fact. Well he said, your blog could also be ‘that type of blog’ where people go to, just to pry on stories about your personal life. Ehehe, i don’t know why but i have brutally honest friends..but anyway Macam, AWU AH.

How many times have you gone to a blog just to see what sort of a bitch A is turning in to these days and what sort of SAKAI things is B doing on the weekends, “eh siapa boyfriend nya awal ani ah????” “gay ya sudah?” and you’d never care to comment because

1. popup (comment)boxes takes a long time to load. 2. popup (comment) boxes are ANNOYING ..and the not very surprising number 3.,

3. despite you self claiming, as not having a bitchy bone in your body , you dont like them. and then you realise eh.. ok la..maybe ONE bone. huhu. but yeah do you see where i’m coming from kah?

this whole blogging scene is just another friendster without the ‘limited profile option’ set. its evil. Its like when im saying KISS ME at the end of my blog, i’m really saying PRY (on) ME or or..BITCH (about) me without realizing it. So yeah, dont think just because you have lots of hits people LIKE YOU. And i’ll just have to be more cautious from now on la..kdg2 org ani ani pandai tukar2 cerita.

hello everyone.

im on a mission to find FILO pastry. tried looking for it at the supasave in mata mata though to no avail.

aaaahhh im craving for Baklavaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I miss my ‘lebanese-sweets’ fixes from Sydney road and it’s oh so impossible to find Baklava here because its IMPOSIBLE to find FILO. its also IMPOSSIBLE to find people who really know what BAKLAVA is. and no its nothing like PAVLOVA and its nothing like JELLY..F.Y.I that’s TURKISH DELIGHT.

mana mana mana?

I just had a tiring night of kneading and baking and chopping and my share of kusuting for i have never attempted making pizza from scratch before. It was like an excercise, ill be damned if i get ASTHMA tonight!! he-he.

I was saying to my mom how sick i am of eating out and asked if she could give me a decent amount of cash to go grocery shopping with so that i could start cooking again. I seldom cook on my holidays back to Brunei for obvious reasons such as

1. why cook when you have maids preparing the conventional ‘lauk rabus’ for breakfast, lunch, dinner?
2. eating out is cheap..unlesss ure paying $5.50 for a glass of GINA MANGO JUICE.

but it gets to a point where you’re just sick and muak of what they’re serving you out there that you finally feel the KNEAD (pun intended) to have a home cooked meal. So off to supasave i went to get the ingredients that ill be needing for tonight’s dinner.

The reason why i never made pizza bases from scratch before is because the recipe usually calls for ‘yeast’ hehehe you all know how crap i am when it comes to baking, i dont know why but the term BAKING just doesnt seem to register in neither my LEFT or RIGHT brain. So quite often i wouldn’t bother with recipes that requires alot of BAKING and TAPONG and EGgs & YEAST … in my head it all sounds like form 5 punya A-MATHS. Membari paning. However, i was up last night surfing food blogs and found a post that had illustrations on how to KNEAD A PIZZA DOUGH.. it seemed easy enough and by the 8th step (which was a picture of the end product with toppings and everything) my mouth was already watering and i started tossing and turning in my bed..so i thought WHY NOT?

After much fussing around to whether i had put too much yeast or there lack of.. i surprised my self when i saw the dough rising after an hour. I surprised my self further when i realised that i had managed to roll the dough out in to perfect ROUNDS.

huhu. I thought id make the pizza abit more decadent by adding spinach and portabello mushrooms. i found these amazing portabello mushrooms tadi at supasave.. $2 bucks for 3 pieces heh i thought to myself THESE BETTER BE GOOD and what do u know ..they were!!! and the sauce was made from scratch pun.

this isn’t a really good photo, i know. haha tapi by this batch my hands were literally shaking from kneading & rolling that i wsn’t really bothered anymore. huhu.

loveeed how it looked. I went all VAIN POT on my pizza..huhuhu..i just thought it looked restaurant worthy..but thats just me la..

haha anyway, its 2 in the morning. time for me to hit the sack. huhu i need to RECUPERATE.

oh oh before i forget.. i also made my version of the Spaghettini Agli-Oglio recipe, with the left over mushrooms,olive oil, parsely, black pepper and lots and lots of garlic ..and ofcourse chicken stock. The mushrooms turned the dish a little bit black..huhu it resembled squid ink pasta (siasapun) ..but just like everything else, the oglio was lovely pun..huhuhu..awu angkat bakul sendiri, baik tah puji diri sendiri, menunggu urang memuji DOI LAMA LAGI.
