meyauuuuuu meeyauuuuuuu

i am bored.
i went through at least half of my samboi stash today. big mistake. cause my throat now feels like an australian drought. My biggest achievement today so far.. is not spending money. i cooked breakfast. cooked dinner..and now im all cooked out. the shittiest thing about having to cook is having to do the dishes afterwards. always a pain. but its ok. at least i saved money.

apart from that.. i have been playing scrabble the whole day. Mun’s packing her stuff. She’s leaving for Brunei tommorow.. and so is Maya! Balik tah kamu semua. tinggalkan tah kami sini ani sama samboi. boring eh. nada kan dibuat ani.

excercise malas. semua malas. malas malas malas. jadinya apa? penyakit M.

ok. nada just being random.

i just realised its been cold all week. its been drizzling the whole day. not that it matters.

anyway. ill find something to write about tomorrow.

tommorrow tommorow i laf you. tomorrow. is only a day away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

peaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas.

love.kisses.
siti

No loosening of my purse strings.

Just got back from Alia’s place.. went to Nelayan to catch up with the Yassin siblings who are leaving for Brunei tonight. bitches. Seriously, im so used to flying home straight after my exams that i’m currently suffering from withdrawals.

The good thing about going home upon finishing exams is the fact that you get to take the stress of studying completely off your shoulders as soon as you get on to the plane home. I completed my last paper last week and i’m still having trouble sleeping. The anxiety kinda stays right UNTIL the results come out Which will not be for another 2 weeks. On top of things i am also going through a caffeine withdrawal phase.

After the end of semester, i try my best to stay away from coffee. I must have drank an ocean of coffee during the exams period. Not being able to have coffee means that i’m SLEEPING all the time. Friends have suggested taking apples. But i just don’t get the logic behind apples as a replacement for caffeine.

Apples = Fruit
Caffeine= is not a fruit.

Fruit= Apples
What is not a fruit = Caffeine

Another option is to start going for Bikram yoga. Well It could have been an option if only there weren’t that many FAREWELL gatherings to go to. How i wish farewell gatherings came in the form of Buy two and get One free price. So here’s what i plan to do to save money for the next few weeks.

SLEEP.

Oh. and btw. i think i might found a good substitute for coffee. Asam candy. Seriously, i could totally live on this stuff for weeks. hahaha.

Thanks Amira. You are my Wanita Melayu Asam Terakhir. My mom doesn’t like me eating these asam things. a while ago she sent me an email with photos of dirty factories in china where they make samboi. The things is..samboi is just too good to give up. Pebaiktah sebalah lungkang ya membuat. i would still eat it… huhuhuhu. Ganya membari LALI. huhuhuhu. Takut ku lapas ku makan the whole stash aku lupa nama ku..or worse, lupa pakai seluar bejalan! hahahaha.

kes orang suka bebanar makan samboi. huhuhu. suka banar ya ani..sampai lupa BEBAJU hahahahaa

ok. im off now. Gonna catch up with this week’s Gossip Girl..and then..sleep i guess?

Crab Noodles bukan CRAP noodles.

I though i’d start off with a picture post. Its been a while since i took my camera out to play. I’m slowly getting my groove back with photograpy but it’s just not quite there yet. So bare with me.

Last weekend, Liyana (Amal) and I decided to celebrate our kemerdekaan (from exams) by having crab noodles at this place called Ling Nham down in China town. It wasn’t really planned, it was more like

‘Eh Mal, kau lapar?’
‘awu, ko?’
‘Awu. ko?’
‘Awuu.’
‘Where should we go?’

after walking around for abit i remembered that i have been craving for crab noodles ever since i saw a foodie cover of it on the travel & living channel. Which i think was a good two years ago! So anyway, since we were in China town..we thought, why not ask around? Bumped in to an old friend who suggested we should try going to Ling Nam.

When we arrived, the place was packed. I’ve passed by the restaurant quite a number of times and its popular among the students..so it wasn’t surprising that we couldn’t get a seat right a way. The ‘aunty’ behind the counter told us that she’d call us on our phones when there are seats available which would take approximately 15 minutes. so we waited. Walked around china town for abit, when there was no call we decided to head back to the place. The aunty greeted us again: “oh hey hey! i CALL YOU!” she said accusingly. And we were like? ‘What call? telephone no ring!’ She told us we had to wait for another few minutes cause she “acidentally” gave away our table to somebody else.

hahaha mcm..hmmm acidentally kah.. ACIDMENTALLY?? boo. tau jua urang ya inda mau rugi. This time we waited in the restaurant. Thank god she offered to take our orders in advanced.

so anyway after another 15 minutes of waiting we finally got ourselves seated. I was abit dissapointed that the food didn’t come straight away. There weren’t even PEANUTS on the table!!!!!! Imagine how hungry and kusut we were as we sat and drooled over food that were served to the tables nearby. Rasakan ku gagar restaurant atu..huhuh manatau capat? but yeah eventually the food came..

oh i wishhhhhhhhhhh i had a camera with me. im not really good at giving descriptions but i will try. The plate of (king) crab came..on a bed of egg noodles drenched in some sort of chinese style ginger sauce. We quickly filled up our plates and took a bite of the noodles..and OMG. we were in heaven!!! Liyana kept on chanting AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME as she worked through her plate of noodles. This must be what exstacy pills are made of. hahaha Ling Nam crab noodles!!! The ginger gravy was AWESOME..the taste of ginger detectable in every bite…oh sigh. i could still taste it in my mouth. our bill came up to $150. pretty expensive considering we only had around 2 1/2 pounds of crab, equivalent to one king crab shared among the two of us. but it was worth it. we had fried icecream for the CLOSING CEREMONY. hahaha.

the next time i go.. i will bring at least two more friends with me ..lol to split the bill with..and i must must must not forget to bring my camera. hahaha so any takers????

lol. now i understand whyyyy the place is always packed. with seafood that good, i wouldn’t mind waiting a MONTH just to get seated. yatah bah skalinya.. 3 days later. here i am. still craving for crab noodles. not just any other crab noodles LING NAM crab noodles. sigh. So not wanting to break my bank, i googled the recipe for ginger crab noodles and went down to china town to scour for the ingredients. here’s hwere the pictures come in. lol.

China town.. i used to walk pass it every day after school. i liked taking this route home because its usually the quitest just before peak hour 3pmish.

Its nice during the winter, but now approaching summer the little lanes in china town smell like something you get when u leave the kitty litter out in the sun for too long. But yes, that didn’t stop me from getting the ingredients i need to make my crab noodles. stopped over Wing Cheong, one my favourite asian groceries here as they’re not usually as busy as the other ones on the street. and plus, the owners are usually willing to help ORANG PUTEHs like me to find the ingredients needed for a recipe.

This wasn’t even HALF of their noodle collection. they were alot to choose from. and i had to ask the lady working there which type of noodles i needed.

Me: Aunty, what noodle ah i use for crab noodle?
Aunty: oo cwab nwoodle ah? u yut dit (use this) one!!!
me: can u read the instructions for me? i dont understand chinese
Aunty: “ok lit one ha.. u lip(dip) it and hok (hot) water..30 seconds! an len u lip in ice water.. and den when u want to eat..u lip it in hok water again!!!
me: wow. why so difficult?
Aunty: i dono. not i make. they make.

lol. fair enough. so yea i got everything i need, went straight home and made my version of the noodles. the out come? heh. not the least bit sama. hence no picture..cause it wasnt even photo worthy!! hahaha

kiss me.

Chocolat!

Headed down to Abbotsford Convent, a good 15min train ride from the city to catch the Chocolate Festival. Despite being surrounded by chocolate, i was more mesmerized by the venue. Not by its ‘spritual’ offerings but more towards the architectural side of things.I was half expecting a nun to come out singing my favorite tracks from the move, The Sound of Music but instead, we were welcomed by a big-haired lady playing the ukulele..not quite ‘Governess of Austria’, i have to say haha.

But yeah,the venue was just enchanting! From their charming cafes, to the rustic grilled windows.. everything was sooooo Chocolat! However, the weather today was in its utter-most shitness! It was dark out and i wasn’t really able to get good pictures as i hoped. blah. but here they are anyway..forget raining MEN. it was raining CHOCOLATE!!!

mini cupcake-project

The Penang sisters who lives in the same building brought me a belated bday gift in the form of cupcakes today. the strawberry ones were super nyummy. I don’t really care too much for cupcakes as they’re often too sweet, buttery for my liking..but these ones were an acception ..because its small it could easily be eaten in one sitting…

took them out to the balcony for fresh air. huhu
