Just got back from a lamb dinner sponsored by Nawa & Nadia upstairs. I’m so full now that ive refused to take out last night’s dishes from the dishwasher. Amal’s not too happy about it. huhuhu. She’s just popped in two marble cakes in to the oven. She’s been a busy bunny lately, spreading the raya love by making a batch of kueh mur and now marble cakes. Nawa & Nadia gave us 2 containers of cookies pun. I know this raya won’t be as good as the one back home, but we are sure to make the best out of it 🙂
Kamy’s open house would be on the 1st and there’s going to be a BSS Raya gathering on the 2nd day. Next weekend will be Ujai’s open house and i think we’re going to have ours on a Sunday. Not too sure what we’ll be serving up. I’m thinking of the usual roast lamb & rendang (i love kel, si kel suruh aku type ani) but i dont know. that stuff just gets boring after a while. a Korean-themed bbq downstairs at the bbq area would be nice too but then melbourne’s weather has just been over the top crazy that i dont think we should risk having a bbq outside. but yah whatever, any friends of mine who are here in melbourne and are reading this now, make a note; you are all invited to the Harun sisters’ raya gathering next sunday (not this sunday, but the following sunday).
On the topic of Zakat. Students overseas have been asked to pay for their own zakat. But i had a chat with some of my muslim friends in uni earlier this evening and they told me it wasn’t necessary as there are 0 poverty here in melbourne. weird. but whatever it is, ive paid mine. and i asked the people at the mosque where it’ll be going to and they said they’d be giving it to the human appeal thing.. im thinking Somalia? but whatever they do with the money.. manasaja tah durang “Khalas”. huhuhu.
I was told that Brunei would be celebrating raya tommorow..and we’ll be celebrating ours on Saturday. I’d like to wish my family,friends and readers..
