I\u2019m in Dalian, a coastal city dotted with Russian architecture, with Pyongyang just across the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve only been here two days, but every dinner has already turned into a hunting expedition. Unlike other Chinese cities, Dalian\u2019s halal food scene is practically non-existent. We searched \u201chalal\u201d on Google Maps and found only three places. Two of them, we couldn\u2019t even locate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We took a DiDi to one of the venues and got completely lost when we arrived. It was in a very remote area, and according to the map, the restaurant was somewhere inside a building. The building ani lagi dodgy. Dim, sketchy, and reeking of strong Chinese cigarettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I stepped through the door, took one quick look around, realised where I was, and dashed straight back out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
