To plan or not to plan.

You’d think at this age you would know what you’d want in life, how you want it and how to get it. But yeah no. Still no life changing epiphany or whatsoever. At age 7, i knew i wanted to be a badass lawyer just like Matlock. I thought i had that locked in for life. Then, at age 12 being an avid fan of goosebumps, fearstreet and sweetvalley i thought Heyyy i know. I want to be a WRITER!!! Well that didnt happen. At 18 i pursued a degree in Business management which was something i really enjoyed doing. However, instead of taking up a masters in the same field, i dove right in to uncharted waters and started a crash course in..diplomacy and trade. You see, my life just didn’t go the way i have planned. But maybe, plans are not even necessary?

if that’s the case then whyyyyy are people pressured to have plans? why? why? I’ve had plans. but they’ve all for some reason, have never really followed through. Should i just be going with the flow kah? and check back to myself when im 30..and see what i have achieved then? Or maybe by 30. I WOULD then KNOW what i want. but wudnt that just be too late kah???

sorry guys. just a random thought.

Haven’t got anything planned out for today (there it is again!) but i think i might just stay home. cook myself a nice chicken lunch.. and set out a movie line up for me to watch today.. Maybe ill watch Private Benjamin first..

and then.. oh i dont know. anything lah. ok. ill update u guys later. I just need to stay away from the computer for awhile. Takut ku buta. lol. tapi ke TV jua tu ah????? ill make sure ill sit far far away from my tv set then. mcm jauh Manggis sama Jerudong. ok baboosh!!!!

kiss me.

A tour of Flinders Street..

Met up with Zainab and Rifa at Gloria Jeans. My Omani friends who are both leaving Melbourne for good tommorow. Since i had nothing to do, i decided to bring my camera with me. The Gloria Jeans that we went to was conveniently located on Flinders Street. I’ve been meaning to take photos around that area for sometime now. For some reason everytime i go pass that area I never seem to have my camera with me. This’ll be a long photo post by the way. Those of you in Brunei, Dont angry angry if the page takes a while to load. Blame the connection not moi. Connection kamu tu RUSAK.hahaha.Thank you. Please.

lol. The phrase “Thank You , Please” cracks me up everytime. I first heard it watching Mind Your Language some years ago. My cousins and I just couldn’t stop laughing when that indian guy used ‘please’ at the end of every sentence. I’ll try to find the video on youtube nanti. haha anyway, PHOTOS. damn. why do i always get side tracked like that? hahaha

Waited for the tram on Spencer Street

This is one of the many free trams operating around the city. But this one’s not inservice. Driver nya inda baik rasa kali?

On the way there i bumped in to friends of a friend. Believe it or not, these girls here are all DOCTORS. Crazy kan? Siok ni kalau bawa becheck. haha kalau minta refer pun minta refer to the doc sitting next to the other doctor. skali refer lagi to the next one and the next one and the next one. Sounds i like:- Shock me like an electric eel~

Currently listening to MGMT’s- Electric Feel. I just think funky tracks that sound like they come out of the 70’s – 80’s are the Shizzznit. This kinda music always makes a good start to the day..well for me la at least huhuh. The video above is just a fan-made video – you tube disabled embedding for the original vids. If you want to see the original one, then go here.

this is what the world is for .. making the the ELEC-TRI-CITY..

ooo girl~ shock me like an electric eel~
i said oooh girl~~

me loves it. have a great weekend everyone.

kiss me.

ps: heyyyyyyyy ive got the same ikea lamp from the video. lol.

Dont you just love strawberries?

I’ve been getting recurring dreams..ok more like PMS CRAVINGS for Aunty Gangster’s red hot chilli sambal and fried chicken for awhile now. So today, i managed to persuade Alia to go with me to Lygon street. Alia, not being a tram person is usually quite hesitant to go cause she thinks the tram ride to Nasi Lemak House is a LIFE TIME away. Which is sooooo exaggerated because it really only takes 15 minutes to get to the city to Lygon street by tram. lainlah kalau bejalan kaki. hehe.

after lunch.. we went to satisfy our chocolate cravings at Max Brenners. Intially wanted to go to Koko Black for their ice chocolates but ALIA somehow wasn’t fond of Koko Black..she said the chocolate they had were too rich for her liking and plus, she was on a DIET. huhuhu ok..this i had issues with.

First of all, Arent chocolates mean’t to be rich , sinful and indulgent kah..and two..aren’t u supposed to get that gluttony and muak feeling after every time u have chocolate kah? hahaha apparently NOT. so we met half way and wnt to max brenners. Got my dose of italian hot chocolate..but it wasn’t as good as the one me and Kel used to have at this place near our house..honestly? it tasted like MILO. why would i pay 6 frickin bucks for a cup of THICK MILO? Alia on the other hand skipped drinks and went with choc covered belgian waffles.I guess chocolate covered belgian waffles aren’t as bad.. as oh u know. CHOCOLATE. hahahaha.

and watsup with the shit service at Max Brenner’s these days? the menus are dirty..and the place seriously looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in ages and the waiter took ages to come to our table. and yes WAITER. SINGULAR. I guess popularity doesn’t necessarily come with cleanliness and MANPOWER. huhu. I remember the time i checked the place out with Nawa when it first opened. we loved the strawberry fondue so much we went there every day for a whole WEEK. hahaha. we got so sick of it that we only went back six months later. hahaha. So anyway..

chilled out for abit and decided to walk around the city to wash wash eye ..cuci cuci mata..tapi inda pakai sabun..pasal kalau pakai sabun.. PADEH tia.. e h e he he h e h e [insert more of ketawa kesian here]

Melbourne Central..i think i need that wide angle lenses..lexy has been pushing me to buy.

Melbourne. on a wet day. slippery roads are the worst!!! i slipped and fell today.. it was sooo fortunate that i didn’t bang my Nikon on the cement walk in the process. kalau inda MATI MATI. hahaha. although i did managed to scrape my knee…I’m just waiting for the bruise to show up.. and then i will cry.

he he.

ok going to sleep. early start to the day tommorrow. scouring the city for vacant properties. Nawa’s taking next monday off so her sisters and i are helping her with her workload. some sort of property research i guess? i’ve got nothing better to do jua.. so i guess it should be fun..(i think.)

kiss me.

meyauuuuuu meeyauuuuuuu

i am bored.
i went through at least half of my samboi stash today. big mistake. cause my throat now feels like an australian drought. My biggest achievement today so far.. is not spending money. i cooked breakfast. cooked dinner..and now im all cooked out. the shittiest thing about having to cook is having to do the dishes afterwards. always a pain. but its ok. at least i saved money.

apart from that.. i have been playing scrabble the whole day. Mun’s packing her stuff. She’s leaving for Brunei tommorow.. and so is Maya! Balik tah kamu semua. tinggalkan tah kami sini ani sama samboi. boring eh. nada kan dibuat ani.

excercise malas. semua malas. malas malas malas. jadinya apa? penyakit M.

ok. nada just being random.

i just realised its been cold all week. its been drizzling the whole day. not that it matters.

anyway. ill find something to write about tomorrow.

tommorrow tommorow i laf you. tomorrow. is only a day away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

peaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas.

love.kisses.
siti

No loosening of my purse strings.

Just got back from Alia’s place.. went to Nelayan to catch up with the Yassin siblings who are leaving for Brunei tonight. bitches. Seriously, im so used to flying home straight after my exams that i’m currently suffering from withdrawals.

The good thing about going home upon finishing exams is the fact that you get to take the stress of studying completely off your shoulders as soon as you get on to the plane home. I completed my last paper last week and i’m still having trouble sleeping. The anxiety kinda stays right UNTIL the results come out Which will not be for another 2 weeks. On top of things i am also going through a caffeine withdrawal phase.

After the end of semester, i try my best to stay away from coffee. I must have drank an ocean of coffee during the exams period. Not being able to have coffee means that i’m SLEEPING all the time. Friends have suggested taking apples. But i just don’t get the logic behind apples as a replacement for caffeine.

Apples = Fruit
Caffeine= is not a fruit.

Fruit= Apples
What is not a fruit = Caffeine

Another option is to start going for Bikram yoga. Well It could have been an option if only there weren’t that many FAREWELL gatherings to go to. How i wish farewell gatherings came in the form of Buy two and get One free price. So here’s what i plan to do to save money for the next few weeks.

SLEEP.

Oh. and btw. i think i might found a good substitute for coffee. Asam candy. Seriously, i could totally live on this stuff for weeks. hahaha.

Thanks Amira. You are my Wanita Melayu Asam Terakhir. My mom doesn’t like me eating these asam things. a while ago she sent me an email with photos of dirty factories in china where they make samboi. The things is..samboi is just too good to give up. Pebaiktah sebalah lungkang ya membuat. i would still eat it… huhuhuhu. Ganya membari LALI. huhuhuhu. Takut ku lapas ku makan the whole stash aku lupa nama ku..or worse, lupa pakai seluar bejalan! hahahaha.

kes orang suka bebanar makan samboi. huhuhu. suka banar ya ani..sampai lupa BEBAJU hahahahaa

ok. im off now. Gonna catch up with this week’s Gossip Girl..and then..sleep i guess?

kiss me

Crab Noodles bukan CRAP noodles.

I though i’d start off with a picture post. Its been a while since i took my camera out to play. I’m slowly getting my groove back with photograpy but it’s just not quite there yet. So bare with me.

Last weekend, Liyana (Amal) and I decided to celebrate our kemerdekaan (from exams) by having crab noodles at this place called Ling Nham down in China town. It wasn’t really planned, it was more like

‘Eh Mal, kau lapar?’
‘awu, ko?’
‘Awu. ko?’
‘Awuu.’
‘Where should we go?’

after walking around for abit i remembered that i have been craving for crab noodles ever since i saw a foodie cover of it on the travel & living channel. Which i think was a good two years ago! So anyway, since we were in China town..we thought, why not ask around? Bumped in to an old friend who suggested we should try going to Ling Nam.

When we arrived, the place was packed. I’ve passed by the restaurant quite a number of times and its popular among the students..so it wasn’t surprising that we couldn’t get a seat right a way. The ‘aunty’ behind the counter told us that she’d call us on our phones when there are seats available which would take approximately 15 minutes. so we waited. Walked around china town for abit, when there was no call we decided to head back to the place. The aunty greeted us again: “oh hey hey! i CALL YOU!” she said accusingly. And we were like? ‘What call? telephone no ring!’ She told us we had to wait for another few minutes cause she “acidentally” gave away our table to somebody else.

hahaha mcm..hmmm acidentally kah.. ACIDMENTALLY?? boo. tau jua urang ya inda mau rugi. This time we waited in the restaurant. Thank god she offered to take our orders in advanced.

so anyway after another 15 minutes of waiting we finally got ourselves seated. I was abit dissapointed that the food didn’t come straight away. There weren’t even PEANUTS on the table!!!!!! Imagine how hungry and kusut we were as we sat and drooled over food that were served to the tables nearby. Rasakan ku gagar restaurant atu..huhuh manatau capat? but yeah eventually the food came..

oh i wishhhhhhhhhhh i had a camera with me. im not really good at giving descriptions but i will try. The plate of (king) crab came..on a bed of egg noodles drenched in some sort of chinese style ginger sauce. We quickly filled up our plates and took a bite of the noodles..and OMG. we were in heaven!!! Liyana kept on chanting AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME as she worked through her plate of noodles. This must be what exstacy pills are made of. hahaha Ling Nam crab noodles!!! The ginger gravy was AWESOME..the taste of ginger detectable in every bite…oh sigh. i could still taste it in my mouth. our bill came up to $150. pretty expensive considering we only had around 2 1/2 pounds of crab, equivalent to one king crab shared among the two of us. but it was worth it. we had fried icecream for the CLOSING CEREMONY. hahaha.

the next time i go.. i will bring at least two more friends with me ..lol to split the bill with..and i must must must not forget to bring my camera. hahaha so any takers????

lol. now i understand whyyyy the place is always packed. with seafood that good, i wouldn’t mind waiting a MONTH just to get seated. yatah bah skalinya.. 3 days later. here i am. still craving for crab noodles. not just any other crab noodles LING NAM crab noodles. sigh. So not wanting to break my bank, i googled the recipe for ginger crab noodles and went down to china town to scour for the ingredients. here’s hwere the pictures come in. lol.

China town.. i used to walk pass it every day after school. i liked taking this route home because its usually the quitest just before peak hour 3pmish.

Its nice during the winter, but now approaching summer the little lanes in china town smell like something you get when u leave the kitty litter out in the sun for too long. But yes, that didn’t stop me from getting the ingredients i need to make my crab noodles. stopped over Wing Cheong, one my favourite asian groceries here as they’re not usually as busy as the other ones on the street. and plus, the owners are usually willing to help ORANG PUTEHs like me to find the ingredients needed for a recipe.

This wasn’t even HALF of their noodle collection. they were alot to choose from. and i had to ask the lady working there which type of noodles i needed.

Me: Aunty, what noodle ah i use for crab noodle?
Aunty: oo cwab nwoodle ah? u yut dit (use this) one!!!
me: can u read the instructions for me? i dont understand chinese
Aunty: “ok lit one ha.. u lip(dip) it and hok (hot) water..30 seconds! an len u lip in ice water.. and den when u want to eat..u lip it in hok water again!!!
me: wow. why so difficult?
Aunty: i dono. not i make. they make.

lol. fair enough. so yea i got everything i need, went straight home and made my version of the noodles. the out come? heh. not the least bit sama. hence no picture..cause it wasnt even photo worthy!! hahaha

kiss me.
